The race for electric vehicles has intensified in the Indian market and now Skoda is bringing its first fully electric SUV Enyaq iV. This premium electric vehicle can be seen on Indian roads in late 2025 or early 2026.
Platform and design of Skoda Enyaq iV
The Skoda Enyaq iV is built on the famous MEB platform of the Volkswagen Group which is specially designed for electric vehicles. Its shape is close to the Skoda Kodiaq, but the design is completely modern and in line with electric vehicles. The front of the car has an illuminated grille, stylish LED headlights and L-shaped daytime running lights which make it very attractive at night.
Power and performance
The Skoda Enyaq iV has a 77kWh battery pack which is powered by two electric motors. This setup gives the car 265 horsepower of propulsion and takes it from 0-100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds. The all-wheel drive system gives it better grip in different road conditions. Range and charging capability The most impressive feature of this electric SUV is its long range. According to the WLTP cycle, once fully charged, this car can travel up to 513 km. Also, with 125kW DC fast charging support, this car gets sufficient charge in a very short time, which is ideal for long journeys.
Interior and technology
The interior of the Enyaq iV reflects Skoda’s premium features. Spacious cabin, high-quality materials and advanced infotainment system are its main features. The 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display and connectivity features make the driving experience even better.
India launch and price
Skoda showcased the Enyaq iV at the 2024 India Mobility Global Expo, which makes its intention to enter the Indian market clear. The company plans to launch this vehicle in India in late 2025 or early 2026. Talking about the price, its ex-showroom price is expected to be around Rs 60 lakh, although official confirmation is yet to come.
Skoda’s other electric plans
Skoda is considering bringing not only the Enyaq iV but also another electric SUV called the Elroq to the Indian market. It will also be based on the MEB platform and may be smaller than the Enyaq iV, which may prove to be more suitable for the Indian market.
