In the early days of the electric vehicle revolution, the Tork Kratos R made a splash in the Indian market. This bike was not only known for its excellent performance, but it also changed people’s perspective towards electric mobility. Although this bike is now out of production, its legacy is still alive in the hearts of electric bike lovers.
Design and Build Quality
The design of the Tork Kratos R was quite futuristic and attractive for that time. The build quality of the bike also impressed the buyers. Its sharp cuts and aggressive styling gave it a distinct identity on the road. The bike was available in many attractive color options, prominent among which were black, red, blue, white and jet black. The seat height of 785mm made it comfortable for most riders.
Performance and Riding Experience
The Tork Kratos R was one of the most powerful electric bikes of its time. With a maximum power of 7.5kW and 28Nm torque, this bike gave excellent performance on urban roads. The top speed of 100kmph also made it suitable for highway riding. The bike weighed just 140kg, making it quite easy to handle. Telescopic front suspension and mono shock rear suspension further improved the ride quality.
Battery and Range
The biggest feature of this bike was its claimed range of 120km, which was quite impressive for that time. The battery took 4-5 hours to fully charge. However, the lack of fast charging facility was a major drawback. The battery was given a warranty of 3 years or 40,000 km (whichever is earlier), which was a reassuring factor for the customers.
Safety and Features
The Tork Kratos R was quite good in terms of safety. The 267mm front disc brake and CBS (Combined Braking System) improved the braking performance. The bike also had an anti-theft system. Talking about the features, features like digital instrument cluster, USB charging port, LED headlights and DRLs proved it different from its counterparts. Features like ride analytics and motor walk assist also made it special.
Price and Availability
Talking about the price, the ex-showroom price of Tork Kratos R started from around ₹ 1.30 lakh, which was competitive at that time. There was a slight difference in its price in different cities. In metros like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, its price was between ₹ 1.42 lakh to ₹ 1.45 lakh. Although this bike is not available in new now, it is not difficult to find it in the second hand market.
